My Story
Hello, I am Marisol Rosario the founder of Viajesol Tours and Travel. My passion for travel started at a very young age going every summer to my parents' country of origin, Dominican Republic. What's not to love about the Dominican Republic, Am I right? Ten years ago I decided to expand that passion and go to a different destination every year for my birthday. I've been to several places and I have a long list of destinations that I can not wait to explore. This dream of mine started 3 years ago when I was already planning vacations for friends and giving travel advice to friends and family. I enjoyed sharing my adventures and what I have learned with others. I decided to venture into the travel industry in 2024 because of that passion for travel and helping others explore the world and love it as much as I do through traveling is the ultimate goal.

ETA - EUROPE (UK) VISA REQUIREMENT
✈️ Flying to or through the UK for some cultural immersion? You’ll need an ETA! 🇬🇧
As of 2024, travelers from visa-exempt countries (including the U.S.) must apply for a UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) — even if you’re only transiting through the UK on a layover.
Here’s what you need to know:
✅ Who needs it?
U.S. passport holders and other visa-exempt travelers seeking travel experiences in the UK or connecting flights through the UK.
✅ When to apply:
Apply at least 3 days before travel — earlier is better!
✅ What you’ll need:
📌 A valid biometric passport
📌 A digital passport-style photo
📌 Travel details
📌 A debit or credit card to pay the £16 fee (about $20 USD)

🗓️ Your ETA is valid for 2 years (or until your passport expires) and allows multiple entries to the UK.
🚨 No ETA = No boarding. Even for layovers, the ETA is required.

Europe Introduces Biometric Entry/Exit System (EES) – No More Passport Stamps
Starting October 12, 2025, the European Union will roll out the Entry/Exit System (EES) — a new digital border control process for travelers from non-EU countries visiting the Schengen Area.
This new system will replace passport stamps with biometric checks such as facial scans and fingerprints. It’s designed to strengthen border security, track travel records more accurately, and simplify future entries for returning travelers.
Who it affects:
- All non-EU travelers (including U.S., U.K., and Canadian citizens) entering the Schengen region for short stays of up to 90 days.
- Children under 12 are exempt from fingerprint collection but will have a facial image taken.
What to expect:
- Longer processing times during the initial rollout.
- Biometric registration on your first trip after EES goes live.
- No more passport stamps once fully implemented.
Tip: Arrive early for flights, keep your passport valid, and allow extra time at border control.
